PIT AREA UPGRADE KEEPS US 131 ON THE CUTTING EDGE                                                                                                                 State-of-the-Art RV-style Hook-Ups and Additional Spots Along the Fenceline

MARTIN, Mich. – General Manager Jason Peterson confirmed Monday that US 131 Motorsports Park will get a major upgrade to its pit area in time for the start of the 2019 season.

“We are reconfiguring and upgrading the available power options to accommodate the increasingly large number of motorhomes and trailers used by our racers,” Peterson said.

“When Alec Pinnsonault purchased and reconstructed this historic facility, there were only a handful of motorhomes and 28-foot-and-longer trailers at our weekly events,” Peterson said, “but that has changed and in order to maintain a state-of-the-art facility, we have to change, too,”

Peterson said that the current 15 amp, 110 volt outlets on the poles fronting parking spots in the grass pit area will be supplanted by 50 amp, RV-style hook-ups.

In addition, the redesign will allow for a single row of tow vehicles and trailers in the center island parking areas with additional locations to accommodate those previously double parked in the season pit spots.  Additional power outlets will be added on the fenceline beside the track from the starting line to the quarter mile finish line.

Plans are for work to be complete by April, 2019, in time for the start of the Lane Automotive Bracket Series.

Seasonal parking for Lane Automotive events will be $450 per spot.  Apart from the Lane Series, spots will be available for rent on a race-by-race basis for all other events including, but not restricted to, SFG 500, AMRA All-Harley Drags, Bottom Bulb/Jr. Dragster Bonanza and Midwest Jr. Dragster Series.  Weekend costs will vary by event and spots will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
